True...after all a "little stint" could be used to describe some
contracting jobs I've taken!
Same is true of mammals, etc, though. As I mentioned, capping
nouns used to be common ("Hark, I hear a Bear") and at some
point became archaic.
Too bad Daniel Webster didn't tackle this when he cleaned up
things like "honour" and "colour".
