I have not yet learned to tell any sparrows apart. Weds eve, near the
Burke Museum cafe court, a thing that resembled a sparrow was (ahem)
farting around in the bushes. From the neck down he was yr Basic Brown
Sparrow. He had a white streak through his eyes and the top of his head
was black. White-crowned? White-throated? They have two blk stripes
(like a U Michigan football helmet) & I swear this guy had only black on
top and white eye streak.
Any ideas?
Stopped at WA MU tower yesterday. The Falcon Research Group (Fed'l Way)
guy thought the eggs might hatch this weekend. Also, they are fund
raising w/ a T-shirt sale. A peregrine & a skyscraper on gray cotton.
Sorta nice. Stewart was doing "housework." (Read: nudging rocks around.)
