Hi Tweeters

Just talked to Rob Butler, at Canadian Wildlife Service, who's monitoring
the Western Sandpiper migration from wintering to nesting grounds. He says
the WESA "simply poured in" after the recent Oregon Low pressure system
broke the back of the blocking High, with its contrary winds.

The numbers built up from zip to (and these numbers are not misprints)
200,000 to 500,000 in three days, and at the present time the WESA flocks
at Roberts Bank may be in the *500,000--1,000,000-bird* range.

This is at Roberts Bank *alone*.
