The U.S. Forest Service, Black Hills Audubon Society, U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife are
sponsoring the third annual neotropical migrant survey on the Olympic
National Forest this May and June. This survey is part of the national
Partners in Flight/Birds in the Balance programs. We still need some
expert birders (able to bird entirely from songs/calls in mature forest
stands) and apprentices (folks interested in improving their skills with
a view to conducting the survey in future years). The survey takes place
from late May through late June. Training and song/call tapes are
