Unfortunately, some of us need to keep them turned on if we're
to be paid.

I know the volume is high for some folks, but for someone like
me dealing with e-mail is a background activity while waiting
for the "effing machine" to finish lengthy jobs for me.

However, it is only about four weeks until I leave for a
month banding hawks in a net-free wilderness area. Unfortunately,
someone donated a laptop which is going to be used to enter
observation data so we will no longer be computer-free.

I'm thinking of tossing it off the cliff. It's about 500 ft
to the first bounce on the west side...
