Don't know the answer to the question below, but I do know a piece of
trivia about it. Ian Fleming used to visit the West Indies frequently, and
owned an earlier edition of this book. When he needed a name for his
fictional secret agent, he picked the name of the book's author.
Interesting to think of 007 as a birder!
