Dear Tweeters,

Speaking of backyards, I have a new one, on the south side of Edmonds
just north of Edmonds Way: what's the chance that I had a single
band-tailed pigeon roosting in my mixed evergreen/deciduous trees last
night? Definitely a pigeon, but I didn't get a very good look: the sun
was setting, it was dark under the trees, and I was looking straight up
from below (not generally a view they provide in the field guides!).
Light color bill with a black tip, no DARK band on the tail, and I
THOUGHT I saw a white crescent on the neck. I remember a BTP discussion
some time back, but I don't remember the comments on current range in
Washington State.

Cheers,
Jim
