I live on Pine Lake in Issaquah. Lately we have had a couple of Ospreys
hanging around. The other day I saw one sitting on top of a tall cedar. All
of a sudden it jumped off, folded its wings and headed for the water. I
assumed it had seen a fish, but instead it went for a mallard. I was
surprised and the mallard suddenly tried to become a diving duck. The Osprey
broke off, spiralled around and flew over the lake. I think he had been bored
and just needed something to do. Its been great having these birds around
lately. The mallards are just more nervous.
