I'm forwarding Randy's good suggestion. I'm all for surveys and/or quizzes
but I agree the answers are best collected and summarized by the quiz sender
and the results posted later, rather flooding the list with each individual
guess.

What is going on with this "mystery bird" thread?

Most of the other lists I'm on have a "Question/Summary" policy.
This means that when you post a question, readers are supposed to respond
to you only rather than to the whole list. Then, you post a summary back
to the list.

Why doesn't tweeters work this way? This "mystery bird" thing would
be a great candidate for a summary.

I don't pay per message (I'd be long gone if I did), but many people
do. All these little messages are not fair to them, and a nuisance
to those of us that are not interested,

It's not that I don't like mystery bird quizzes. I love them. But
not enough to wade through a seemingly endless stream of emails to
see the results.

Just a thought.
