I took my summer ecology class on a field trip to Hart's Pass/Slate Peak
this weekend (8-4 through 8-6-95).

Amoung the Mountain Goats, Sky-pilots, Hoary Marmots, Pikas, and Towhead
Babies we observed the following feathered endotherms:

American Kestrel, 1
White-tailed Ptarmigan, a pair
Boreal Owl, 1 hooting
Gray Jay, 6
Clark's Nutcracker, 2
Boreal Chickadee, 2
Oregon Junco, 5
Gray-crowned Rosy Finch, 1
White-winged Crossbill, approx. 50
Pine Siskin, 8

My guess for the mystery bird: let's see; alder, oak how about
Hutton's Vireo.
