Tweets,

I'm getting information concerning a birding workshop to be held January
7-13, 1996 at Sierra Vista, Arizona near Tucson. The workshop is
sponsored by The University of Maine at Machias Institute for Field
Ornithology. The group leaders will be Jon Dunn (of the Nat Geo Field
Guide fame) and Charles Duncan. The workshop will feature sparrows, but
2/3rds of all sparrow, junco, and towhee species seen in the USA may be
found on the fieldtrips during this week plus lots of other great stuff
like wintering raptors and Mexican rarities.

It's not a "cheap" trip but seems well worth the price for the region and
the educational experience. (Trip is $985 double-occupancy plus airfare to
Tucson and most meals additional-I'm getting this information now via email.)

Is there another non-smoking woman out there who might like to consider a
trip like this? Sharing lodging saves a single surcharge of $180. And
think southern Arizona, beautiful Sonoran Desert, and great birding in
the middle of a Seattle (soggy, soggy) winter!

Has ANYONE out there ever been on one of the U of Maine birding
workshops? Was it great and worth the price?

Thanks for any information,
