I've put up a bunch of photos from (mostly) the last ten months
which I've loaded from a photoCD I made last week. If you're

The photos are named very creatively: "1" "2" etc.

There's a good mystery buteo in image "42", which is, after all,
the answer to everything.

"64" and "68" may help explain my love of the Great Basin.

Those images named <29 are Goshutes raptor banding shots
which are meaningless without explanation, except "4" which
shows both immy and adult broadwing in the hand - a strange
experience in the west!

(Jennifer Seavey, grad student at UW took that with my camera,
so, if you're still tweetin', Jen - you're famous!)

Eventually, I'll scan a bunch more Goshutes shots and put
together a page with proper explanation.

Here's some photo CD vs. Netscape info, those not interested
can skip it:

The photo CD scans are extremely good. Unfortunately, net
browsers can't read 'em, and they're also very large (1.15MB
for the base scan, over 4MB for the best). So I scrunched 'em
hard in photoshop, which is why the artifacts are so noticable.
96KB loads a lot faster than a megabyte, though! I'm going to
read Phillip Greenspun's page on manipulating photo_cd scans for the
net to see about doing a better job (he's a webhead at
MIT who's also a pretty good photographer who seems to
know more about this than anyone else in the world).

Wouldn't want you to think this represents photoCD quality - the
scans themselves far exceed video reproduction capability.

If you scan a 100, they're only $1 a piece (plus $7.95/disk) down
here at Wy'east which compares very favorably with the $12 or so
charged for a single scan to floppy by most places.

I may load up another twenty or so of the 100 scans. These
have all been taken mostly in the last 10 months, so it's been
a fun year.
