Okay, I know this isn't Yardbirds, but I saw both a male and a female
Downy Woodpecker in my backyard this morning. It's a first for my yard.
And, to go with a message earlier this week, I first noticed the male
while scanning a "mixed flock" for something of interest. So it does pay
off to check those groups!

PS: For those interested, I live in the View Ridge area, with four large
Douglas Firs in the backyard, along with other trees and shrubs.
