Stuart MacKay asked:

<1) Is this an official program through the University of Saskatchewan ?
2) How much of the fee is donated towards Whooping Crane conservation ?>

answers:
1. Yes, this is an official program sponsored jointly by the University of
Saskatchewan Extension Division and Nature Saskatchewan ( a provincial natural
history organization). The program consists of one day of lectures/presentations
followed by a day of viewing whooping cranes and other migrating birds. We
believe that conservation values begin with education.

2. None of the fee is contributed directly to whooping crane conservation
because this is a not-for-profit program. But, the program contributes
indirectly. In the interest of helping educate people about whooping cranes in
particular, and endangered species and conservation programs in general, the
instructors volunteer their time. The course fee of $95 pays for van
transporation, lunches, and promotion. If and when there is surplus revenue this
goes to Nature Saskatchewan for additional programs.
