I for one, would like to see notices for local (PNW, BC, AK, northern CA,
etc.) birding trips whether they're for "profit" or otherwise. I can read
about the exotic stuff in Birder's World, Birding, etc. and can't afford
them anyway. A notice is not necessarily the same as an ad, but the date,
locality, likely sightings or specialities sought, cost and the leader or
contact would appear to be in "good taste" (whatever that is) and *very*
useful. In some cases, merely advertising the availability of a brochure,
such as for the North Cascades Institute, would be adequate. Much as I
like, or at least don't mind, the puns and other goofy stuff, I think
birding trip notices are appropriate and helpful.
