It's not Washington, but I found some very newly hatched Killdeer
chicks at the boat ramp at Beulah reservoir, north of Juntura in
Eastern Oregon, a few years ago. N43*54'40.1" W118*9'1.3"
Juntura is at about 3,000 feet, and I recall going uphill to get
to Beulah, but I don't have a map that shows the elevation
exactly. Intriguingly, deLorme lists the boat ramp as 3102, but
looking into the matter further, I discovered boat ramps at the
coast with numbers in the 3300s. So it would be an almost
unbelievable coincidence if the elevation were also 3102.

If Washington has reservoirs like Beulah (nice little marsh at one
end, fairly arid habitat - sparse junipers and some sage around
it), that would be a good place to look for a higher elevation
record.
