Feeling a need to defend Everett (somebody has to)...

Michael, perhaps with the exception of Wahl & Paulson and undereducated media
local accounts, most references to the Everett mini Arctic Tern colony do
acknowledge its West Coast status and/or make reference to the more southerly
East Coast colonies, including the original American Birds article by Manuwal,
Mattiocks & Richter, First Artic Tern Colony in the contiguous western United
States, (Vol, 33, No. 2) and the WOSNEWS piece I wrote last year (the Aug.
issue I believe). And the Everett/Seattle latitude is, according to my crudy
map at work, is more like that of Newfoundland than Portland, Me., but I think
I'll check on that since my sister lives in Portland and I enjoy bragging
about our much more civil "northerly" climate.
