Defending most references to Everett's Arctic Tern colony,
Fred Bird rightly point out that "the Everett/Seattle latitude
is, according to my crudy map at work, is more like that of
Newfoundland than Portland, Me." (And he adds, "but I think
I'll check on that since my sister lives in Portland and I enjoy
bragging about our much more civil 'northerly' climate."
For the record, Portland, Maine, lies at north latitude
43 39 41. Everett lies at north latitude 47 58 45--the same
as, for instance, Chaleur Bay, New Brunswick.
