Walking down the beach at Ocean Shores last Sunday, just far enough north of
the jetty and south of where they try to stop cars to be temporarily away
from people, my wife and I got an excellent long, close up look at an
immature, unbanded peregrine sitting on the end of a log that was sticking
out of the grassy bank hanging out over the sand. Bird had a very pale
forehead, rather poorly defined "sideburns", and heavily streaked breast. I
am just learning falcons, but this looked just like the national geo guide
picture of a young "tundrius", (except it had yellow feet and legs). Do they
migrate through here?

Also saw red throated loon, two black brant, a group of red-breasted (I
think, they were too far away for a good look) mergansers, wandering
tattlers, and red-necked phalarope at the game area behind sewage treatment
pond.
