Subject: Upland Sandpiper in Washington

Jeff Harding called me today. He, Bill Thackaberry and John Crowell walked
out Leadbetter Point, Washington Sunday August 20.

On the grassy depression between Grassy Island and the point was an Upland
Sandpiper, a very uncommon bird along the coast.

Shorebirding was rather slow but they did find besides the Upland an
American Golden-Plover, 4 Pectoral Sandpipers, and about 150 Black-bellied
Plovers.
