Eudora Pro is a commercially available software package, costs about $60
mail-order. Gets very good reviews in the Mac magazines, and I like it a
lot. UW should furnish it to all its Mac users (you can quote me; won't do
you any good).

UPS furnishes it to all its computers to connect with the VAX, and, being a
computer weenie, I don't know whether you can use it to get your mail at
UW; hopefully one of the readers of this post will be able to help you.

I think the primary bird listing program for the Mac is BirdBrain.
There's a North American version and a world version. I haven't tried it
but have heard good things about it. I keep a variety of lists on Excel,
my field notes on Word, and I think you could use Excel to make a
customized program, by importing a North American or world bird list (as
you can download from tweeters). But BirdBrain certainly has lots of
features that you wouldn't have on your own simple version.
