Subject: first Varied Thrush

On Wednesday, 24 Aug, there was a Varied Thrush singing sporadically in the
trees near my house in Maple Leaf (NE 98th St), the first for the fall and
my earliest date in the last few years. Does this presage an early winter?
What does the almanac say?
