Bob,

I was at a friend's place on Bainbridge Island this past weekend - above
the south shore of Eagle Harbor.

Red-breasted Nuthatches were constantly calling from the Douglas
Fir/Bigleaf Maple "timber" in this suburban-rural area. Not having any
incentive to count them at the time, my memory would put low dozens in
the trees in a 1/4 mile walk with my boy on Sunday Morning (8/20).

Also, we had seen them on the south fork of the Skokomish River during
the point-count surveys for neo-trops/etc done by the Olympic NF/Partners
in Flight folks.

Could be they're in the lowlands now?...
