At Washington Park Zoo this past month, a family of barn swallows had
fledged in the Siberian tiger compound. One of the young was hanging out
nearer the nest than the rest, and every time the tiger went close, the
other swallows harassed it, causing the tiger to run away.
Now that's taking parental responsibility to the nth degree.
