~Tweeters, Scott Ray has just phoned me with a nice shorebird list from Aitkins
Lake and nearby L NE on the Waterville Plateau in Douglas County. High water
persists there, according to the wheat farmer there - a "1 in 5 year
phenomenon." Ducks and swans were abundant there in spring and elsewhere on the
Waterville Plateau. Dan Stephens found Washington's only 1995 White-faced Ibis
in May on this lake. I found 6 Black-bellied Plovers on 17 May there.

Scott found today:
Black-bellied Plover
Greater Yellowlegs
Lesser Yellowlegs-50
Solitary Sandpiper-6
Red Knot-1 imm.
Sanderling-2
Baird's Sandpiper-100
L. b. Dowitcher
+ many peeps

I'm planning to be there tomorrow early am
