On 26 August I saw a Scrub Jay near some houses about 5 mi. N Goldendale on
U.S. 97. This is a very rough estimate--I neglected to take a mileage--but
it was a few miles south of Brooks Memorial SP. I have seen them
repeatedly farther southwest in Klickitat County, from Klickitat south.
With oaks continuous right across Satus Pass, we might expect a continuous
population into Yakima County eventually, although it may be that they
thrive best around people, and there aren't too many people living along
that road. Nevertheless, keep a lookout, Andy!
