I was taking a hike yesterday east of Duvall along Stoessel Creek just
north of the Tolt Pipeline road when I flushed a flock of 25 Band-tails
that had been roosting rather low in streamside alders. The rush of
wings gave me quite a start. I only recall seeing/hearing pairs or
calling birds here in late May on my last visit.
