As many as four BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS have been seen at the pond on
Damon Point, Ocean Shores. These birds were first reported on the Bird
Box, on August 20th, with four reported there on August 24th. Three were
still present on yesterday, August 28th.

The alternate plumaged adult BAR-TAILED GODWIT at the Ocean Shores Game
Range, first reported on Saturday August 5th, was last reported on
Tuesday, August 20th. Also at the Game Range this past week were at
least 15 Pacific Golden Plovers, reported on August 20th.

Another good shorebird reported from the outer coast was an Upland
Sandpiper at the tip of Leadbetter Point State Park, on the Long Beach
Peninsula, seen on August 20th.

At Point No Point, in Kitsap County, recent sightings include 4 Parasitic
Jeagers, 2-3000 Common Terns 4-500 Red-necked Phalaropes, along with good
numbers of Bonaparte's, Heerman's and California Gulls.

A GREAT EGRET is still being seen in Kent area, just off if Highway 167,
at the 272nd Street over pass. It was last reported on August 24th.
Another Great Egret has been seen at Spencer Island, near the Everett
STP, this past week as well.

A Brown Pelican was seen at Nisqually N.W.R., in Thurston County on
August 22nd. Pelicans are rarely reported from the south reaches of the
Puget Sound.

WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS are still being reported as abundant in the
mountains of the North Cascades, Okanogan highlands and across the state
east to Salmo Mountain and as far south as Mt. Rainier.
