Tom Foote has yet to identify my friend so I must assume that

1) he doesn't have web access

BTW, I've learned that us in the world of 'X' see these images
in a special Darker Than You Can Believe mode. 'xv' can fix
this if you know how to use it (and where to find it). PowerPCs
and real PCs have the darkness done pretty well, though many PCs
are low res.

Unfortunately, there are no standards on the web for assigning
pixel values, i.e. the pixel "10" in greymode may be (hell -IS!)
interpreted as being a different shade of grey on different
systems.
