I LIKE it! Adopt a species . . . . Actually, I'm getting ready to retire
and thinking about what I'll do in my second childhood and, while I'm not
actually volunteering, it seems like a good idea to spend some time
tracking down & studying one's favorite species. I'm inclined to go for
something rare and/or endangered like Goshawks or Great Gray Owls. (That
could be hormonal. I just thought of Margaret Morse Nice studying Song
Sparrows outside her kitchen window. Oh, oh, was that a politically
incorrect, sexist remark? It's hard to tell anymore, but I better stop
before I'm too far behind.)
