I forgot to mention that many of the Red Crossbills in the Olympics were
singing this weekend as well. I'd never heard the song, such as it is.
Do the different types have different songs or is it just the call notes
that are different?

Sorry this Red Phalarope was in Kitsap Cty where I imagine they have been
seen before. If by chance it snuck over the county line (it was in
flight - flushed by the ferry) it would have been in Snohomish where I
vaguely remember one was seen at Everett STP in the last couple of
years. I sure would like to see a Red Phalarope that was actually red
someday.
