Yesterday at the Stillwater wildlife area between Duvall and Carnation (King
Co, WA, USA for our out-of-town friends), I saw an osprey carrying a fish,
in the usual head-first manner. Nothing special, until I checked closer
with my binocs and saw that the fish was a bright orange color! I always
thought those introduced goldfish, basking at the surface of ponds, looked
like an easy mark; apparently the osprey thought so, too.

BTW, regarding Band-tailed Pigeons vs. Rock Doves, no one has mentioned the
RODO's inevitable habit of flying in seemingly useless and endless tight
circles, a habit I virtually never see in BTPI's.
