The following item ties together a few recent Tweeter threads in a strange
way (rare birds sightings , what to do with a dead bird, are car kills as
significant as window kills, etc.).

About a week ago, a duck was killed by a car on a highway in Richland. It
was given to the Fish and Wildlife Service where it was identified as an
immature Harlequin Duck. This is the only Benton County record of this species.
