For Birdchatters, this comes out of a brief discussion on the Pacific
Northwest discussion group Tweeters about determining the sex of a
Chestnut-collard Longspur that just showed up in Seattle.

Both Tweeters and Birdchat have had occasional notes about poor
illustrations in the NGS guide. (Also some about Peterson's paintings,
but that's another matter.) Presumably there's going to be a 3rd edition
some day. It would be great to collect some of these notes and forward
them to the NGS editors, asking them to have their artists correct the
problems. Has anyone been saving any of this information? Is anyone
interested in collecting some notes on errors that we could send to the
editors?
