Bob Woodley found a Western Gull at Groves Park today. Luckily, Nancy was
available to run down to see it too. It was on the small beach at the Park
Street entrance (between Newcomer and Saint). It was among Glaucous-winged
and Herring gulls (and Ring-billed) for great comparisons. The bird (and
the rest of the gulls) was scared off by a dog. The RBGU returned but the
larger gulls kept flying downriver. Not sure if they'll be around. We are
fairly certain this is a new Benton county record.

(Scott, maybe this is the one you saw at he compost heaps at Wallula?)
