I think the one thing that this discussion on CCLO plumage shows is how
little we realy know about these birds. There is no really good
identification artical on the birds that I can find. They are a difficult
group at best. For example, how many people guessed that the bird in
photo B,in the photo quiz, Oct issue of Birding, was a longspur, much
less a Smiths Longspur?
