Nice sighting of a Eurasian Wigeon on the Sammamish slough yseterday (Wed.)
at noon. In a small group of Am. Wigeons about 1 mile S. of 116th St.

I usually have abundant Varied Thrushes ground feeding in my yard every year
from October through April. It usually doesn't matter what the weather in
the mountains is. They feed (along with juncos and squirrels) principally
on hen scratch I buy at the feed store and just throw out on the lawn. They
occasionally visit the seed feeder, peanut butter, and suet; I have even
seen them take unshelled peanuts rarely. I have counted as many as 13 under
the feeder at a time.

Okay, at my suet feeder:
RB nuthaches
Song Sparrow
Steller's Jay
Hairy WP
Downy WP
N. Flicker
BC Chickadee
CB Chickadee
Varied Thrush (sampled)
Pileated WP (observed only once)

Winter Wrens, Bewicks Wrens, and Bushtits are all in the yard but never
visit the feeder.
