Chris,

I'm hooked on my Nikon 10X35's, not wide field of vision, but the best Iv'e
found for low light situations at dusk or most any time in the NW. They have
reasonably close focus, and are relatively light weight for traveling. They
sell for about $350 from mail order houses. I also like the 10x for raptors
and waterfowl when I don't have access to a spotting scope or when I'm on the
road.
