After sending the message in response to Sherrie Hockett's posting, I
thought of a sentence that is most germane to some of the discussions we've
had here and would like to add it as something for birders to think about.


It would be sad indeed, if one of the consequences of birding would be to
put more and more restrictions on ornithology, the science that makes it
possible.
