It is always right to be judgemental when people who claim to be
concerned about animal welfare attempt to stop the scientific
work which leads to better understanding wildlife's needs.

The ban on live lures which exists in the UK would kill banding
of migratory raptors in the US if adopted here, and that banding
has helped our understanding of the winter distribution of
them. In the case of sharpies and Coops from the west, that
means Mexico and banding is currently our only practical
way to learn the details.

Just imagine if Eric Forsberg had been prevented from "mousing"
Northern Spotted Owls?
