Sometimes the Juncosl will attempt to get up on the suet feeder and grab some
suet. But they seem so unskilled at it out here.
Yesterday we were amazed that our yard seemed to be taken over by Juncos. We
have our usual group of about 10 juncos that feed at the seed and underneath
the suet feeder. But yesterday there were about 25 additional juncos and they
were feeding throughout our lawn where our "regular " juncos never feed. It
was amusing to look out on the lawn and see these dark heads poking out it.
I figure that this is some flock that moves through the area. I wonder if
there are resident juncos and then roving gangs of junco that stay on the
move. I think there might be a novel here. I'm not sure .
