I just received the Northwestern Naturalist, a symposium issue pertaining
to Marbled Murrelet biology. It was with great interest but eventual
disappointment that I realized, while looking through the papers, that the
individual studies were conducted in the following political entities:

Alaska 4
British Columbia 5
Washington 0
Oregon 3
California 3

Notice anything funny about this distribution?

Is ornithology practiced in Washington?
