I haven't looked at mine lately but what I remember is about 700 species for
the North America including such birds as the Spotted Woodpecker which I
guess wandered to the Aleutian Islands one day. In order to have this many
species there is only one photo per bird and that generally is the spring
male except in the case of the phalaropes where they show the female since
she is the most colorfull. I don't know who the audience would be for this
CD-ROM. I would hate to have a beginner use it because they don't need to
wade through species like Spotted Woodpeckers and the such. I have not been
able to make it work as a screen saver which would have been great. It does
have species which I have never seen photos off before.
