Thanks to Don Baccus for sharing his views on wildlife rehab with us. It
really made me realize how much we allow values to influence our thinking
in a matter that might otherwise be strictly mechanical.

--How do we decide what species are worth rehabbing?

--How do we decide which individuals are worth keeping?

--Do we base our decisions on what the individual or species is worth to
us?

--How do we separate our own selfish interests from our unselfish
interests?

--Finally, who are we to judge the quality of life for another individual?

The whole episode centers around an albatross who no longer has the ability
to BE what it WAS. However, SEEMS content to BE what it is NOW.
