This robin noise was one way we found flocks in dense juniper/cedar
stands during Nebraska counts. They would get all ginned up and wouldn't
fly so much. But they did make this sound a lot in the winter. The day
after the ice storm down here, a similar flock of robins was regularly
making such a noise on Sauvie Island--I could only see about 10 birds at
a glance, but the presence of the noise suggested and revealed more. RK
