Interesting that Don talked about the amusement of goshawks and Cooper's
hawks running on the ground. The only accipiter I've seen doing that is the
sharp-shinned, which I have seen chasing sparrows around our yard in the
hedges. We have chicken wire wound around some shrubs to deter cats from
charging out after birds, and one sharp-shinned got trapped in the chicken
wire; fortunately it freed itself just before I reached (with gloves) for
it.
