We spent several hours on Spencer Island on a beautiful sunny
Christmas day.
Many redtails, one young bald eagle, and northern harriers kept
a close eye on their potential Christmas dinners.
Not a lot of birds, but with no wind it was easy to spot and watch
several bold downy woodpeckers working on cattails, quite a few
lincoln sparrows, hooded mergansers on the ponds, and our best
bird for the day, a pileated woodpecker.
