I had a good day touring the Skagit Flats last Tuesday, missed seeing the
Gyrfalcon but had great views of a Northern Shrike, Marsh Wrens and a
beautiful Rough-Legged Hawk at Big Ditch. After I returned I saw the post
regarding the Gyrfalcon just north of Mount Vernon, the road that it was seen
on is not named in my Skagit County map. I also did not see any Short-Eared
Owls up there, any tips on locations or spotting techniques for this species?
Thanks,
Jack Stephens
