Subject: cormorants

I was recently told that the only cormorants that dry their wings in the
typical wing outstretched manner are the double crested cormorants. I have
certainly observed the double crested in this pose many times, and I don't
specifically recall if I have every seen pelagic or brandts like this, but my
sightings of those two types of cormorants are much less common. My field
guides do not address this issue. They state generally that cormorants dry
their wings in the outstreched manner. Can anyone enlighten me on this.
