This is the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society Rare Bird Hotline for
December 29th. For any questions regarding LCBAS call Mike Lilga at 946-8966.

On December 22, Mark Gerber found a Northern Goshawk in the vicinity of the
West Richland sewage ponds and on December 25, he found a Townsend's
Solitaire at the same location.

On December 26, Dennis Johnson observed a Ferruginous Hawk along Humorist
Road near Hanson Loop Road in the Burbank area.

Farther afield, on December 23, Phil Bartley noted that the Yellow-billed
Loon remained on Blue Lake along Highway 17, south of Dry Falls and toward
the west on Highway 2, he found Lapland Longspurs and Snow Buntings in a
flock of Horned Larks. While at Mile(post) 179 a gray phase Gyrfalcon was
present.

Also far north of us, on December 23, I (Bob Woodley) found Snow Buntings
along Highway 28 near Harrington and (American) Tree Sparrows along the old
State Highway a few miles west of Reardan.

Also along the latter road on December 26, I observed a gray phase Gyrfalcon
about 4 miles east of Davenport.

Last but not least, Bill and Nancy LaFramboise report that the Harris'
Sparrow remains at their feeder as of December 29 and a Townsend's Solitaire
appeared in my yard this morning.

To report your own sightings, please give your name, phone number and
sightings after the tone.
